God’s Direction

Hab 3:5 Before him went pestilence, and plague followed at his heels.

Although this is a reference to the works of God in Egypt, it also sets up the next verse where we learn more about how God directs the forces of creation. God is in absolute control sending pestilence and plague with as much authority as His divine mercy and forgiveness. It is important to look at the pestilence and plague from God’s perspective rather than the human viewpoint. We look at these things and call them evil, but God wields them as tools for purposes far greater than undirected destruction as we might imagine.
